A (very) brief history of the Fruit Nut Website.

I first started knocking this website together in Thailand 2000. I was invited to stay with some Buddhist monks in their small monastery in Krabi, where they most kindly offered me unlimited use of their computers...

My initial idea had been to write a book. A plan that seemed to get off to a flying start, as within a week I had already written 60 odd pages, with an abundance of ideas surging to the forefront of my mind, each as impatient as the next, eager to escape onto paper..

Then somehow or another, I started teaching myself HTML, and before I knew it, all my concentration had been diverted to the geeky aspect of webpage design.. My 60 pages were soon chopped up into smaller chunks, and divided up into seperate pages on a website.. (I started out by using free webhosting facilities, such as geocities and the like, but kept moving home, - so many times - as none of them allowed me to present my website as freely as I wished).

Eventually I had some spare cash in my pocket, and decided to invest in my own domain name. Fruitnut came to mind, but fruitnut.com was taken, so I honed in on fruitnut.net and was really pleased with my choice.

I've just resubscribed for another 5 years with this domain name, so, touching wood, I should be around a bit longer.

Recently (December 2003) I decided to give my website a complete restructure, changing my navigation system to hopefully present itself much more clearly. (I had a few people write and tell me how confusing it used to be).

And even more recently (February 2007), I once more restructured the site, removing Frames, as I was never really happy with them.

So hopefully things should be simpler now... More compatible with my moto.. (see below)

As for the book.. well.. I still have those 60 odd pages, and I still intend on writing it. Though when I might allot myself time to do so is currently highly unclear.
