Hello Mango, - Happy new year and all the best for your website. Give me some news, when are you going to Spain? Did I give you the address of Bruno? Still in Byron Bay, moving in 2 weeks to Cairns, Byron is a tourist nightmare; prices are going up in every way....
love. Ben

Hi Mango. I just learned about your web site and checked out the index page and recent journal entries. Just about everything (if not everything) you said on your main page is how I feel. I'm in the middle of putting updates on my own site right now and don't have the time, but I'm coming back soon to do more reading. Thanks for being so open and telling it like it is. I'm placing a link to you on my site.
May your travels be grand in spirit, health, and humor.
Love,
Brenda

Many thanks Mango. I love your website. I have been a vegetarian then vegan for 35 years. For years I was asked over and over again, "What is that? and what do you eat?" (I'm still asked the latter). At least most people these days would know what is meant by vegetarian, (though not so much vegan) and it's all thanks to good people like you.

hi your website is really needed for the saving of the earth.i'm a vegan.in a few yrs i'll be fruitarian.although i hav chosen to do it in a shorter time heres the path i suggest to be a fruitarian-it takes 15yrs.1st 5yrs leave all,red meat,fish,fowl.2nd 5 yrs leave all dairy products(eggs milk and milk products)along with veggies which grow under the ground.3rd five yrs leave even veggies which grow above the ground.u hav bcom a frutarian.i hav suggested this path since some people cannot withstand a sudden veg diet and that leads to the erronous belif that"vegetarianism is bad 4 ur health"

luckily i'm quite strong and was succesful in bcoming a vegan in 1 go. i bcame a vegan since i strongly support animal rights. email me!

Me in Australia at an International Vegan Festival, (Continental House, Hepburn Springs, Victoria) Thankyou all for your feedback here. I haven't felt need to sign my own guestbook before, but Bill's last entry was begging for attention, so I thought I'd say hi.. Bill, if you are out there, I'd just like to point out, that there is no evidence to support what you say.. - Vegans tend to survive longer than meat eaters in most cases, and do so with a better state of health. On the contrary, the way to die prematurely, would be to eat flesh. (I've heard in some middle eastern country, there used to be a way of killing condemned prisoners based on feeding them nothing but cooked flesh.. after a month on such a diet, the prisoner would die of malnutrition - had they been fed on nothing but organic raw fruit and veggies, they probably would have all lived to be centenarians!).
Peace to you.
Hugfully, Mango

I've only had a brief look through your site and will visit a lot more to read what you have to say on fruitarianism in particular. I like what you have to say and also that you have kept your sense of humour which is so important when relating details as you have which could seem very extreme to people who haven't looked at life like this before. I haven't yet found out where you are though some of the photos look like they are around here (Australian eastern coastline) though I guess could be anywhere. Much joy to you Mango and Love Julianne

Hello! I was led to your website by Harmonie, an intern at the Tanglewood Wellness Center in Thurmont, MD USA. I have devoured most of what you have on the site and will be coming back again and again. I fasted for 16 days at Tanglewood and am now living life as a vegan (although I believe I am more of a fruitarian since green vegetables don't hold that much of an interest for me). Thank you for the valuable information you have compiled. Namaste.

I am trying out the eating raw foods for better health and nutrition, but it seems that many folks who eat this way are fond of pointing out that others "eat dead corpses", etc. My thinking is that they're just giving back some of the (I'm sure) plentiful ridicule that they have received for their CONCIOUS decision to NOT eat meat. Many people (I was, at first) are turned off (or become hostile) by being ridiculed for their "flesh-eating." I wonder if many of these people aren't angry at Nature for requiring that plants/animals eat one another to survive. As long as the animal is treated with dignity and respect, as one's food plants are as well, I simply cannot understand what is more wrong with killing an animal than with killing plants, who eat the decomposing bodies of animals, insects and other plants. If you have the time, please help me to understand the difference!

The discovery of your site left me with quite a lot of interrogation... I am personally sick of using money and definitively want to go back to eden. I first came to Bolivia to live back in the wood but I failed for two reason: too cold since I want to live naked(even in tropical zone) and alone. You see, all my theory of love is based on sharing and I don't want to use no object that doesn't grow in nature. It seems that my ideas of being back to eden hardly found an echo in women's heart. I'm a good looking man 24y old, long hair and beard that just want to live naked in the garden of eden. If you would ever know of such woman, peoples or community that live or are interested to live that way, I would really appreciate that you let me know. Congratulations on your site, Daniel.

Sheila Vezeau Totally agree with your site, some of your unbelieving guests may be interested to know that we are the only animal in this kingdom with a long intestine that eats meat! Do you know that when a baby first starts to eat solid foods if you give them fruit they instantly and insintitly love it, however, if when you introduce meat, they do not want to eat it and it takes quite a while for them to develop a taste for it. I do not eat meat and have not for over 25 years and am very healthy, especially for my age which is 67. I love your site and can not help but wonder why there are people out there that have not tried it and still argue with the merit of it.

Michele Déradune What a wonderful site. Amazing and inspiring. Appreciate the B12 articles by Zalan! Love the durian references and pics. - I have yet to try a durian (haven't found one yet), but I get the feeling it has a very special place in the hearts, (if not always in the diet!), of many raw foodies! I call myself 100% raw foodist but I include live food, as well as raw, in that definition -- for instance miso or tempeh which has been cooked but is brought alife again by living bacteria. And I don't freak if there is a tablespoon of maple syrup (which is cooked in the making) from time to time. I would be open to having some molasses too if I thought it would help with B12 or something. Anyhow, love your website and many true insights and optimism for the future. (We can all use some of that!) Thanks for doing this. Raw On!

I wrote here recently about feeling okay about eating tempeh, but I was just trying it for the first time. I just want to set the record straight on tempeh and not recommend it to anyone else (especially those who have a constitution like mine which is particularly vulnerable to mucus-forming foods!)
I didn't realize this for sure until this evening, but now I feel certain that just that tempeh I ate on Sunday and Monday still has me constipated -- just like dairy products would do. No good. I wanted to experiment with it, though, in case it would be a good thing. I still feel the miso is A-okay, but I think that's mostly because so little of it is actually consumed. (If it were not salty and one could eat a whole lot of it my guess is that it would be a problem too -- but since it's not and it's great for flavoring and also has the good bacteria culture, I feel fine to continue to use miso in recipes!)
I still plan to experiment around with how my body reacts to raw grains, but not for another year, after my body is more cleansed from a year and a half of 99% raw diet.

Wow, i think i love you! Smile - Are you for real?. Did you write this entire site by yourself?. [Yes, just me.. taught myself HTML and Javascript, and created the site entirely using good old Notepad - I am also designer of the www.juscogens.com website (still in early stages)] I'm amazed by your chosen words as they have enlightened me like a fresh breeze flowing into my stagnant house. Thanks! Your site is literally the best i've ever seen. - I'm not just talkin' vegan/fruitarian type site, but compared to every site or every kind of web site, none have such photos, such order, such sense. [Thanks, you're not doing my ego any good.. I'm trying to get rid of it (the ego)!]

I'm sensing some East Indian culture in your chosen words, maybe English, but you say you're living in Thailand, no? [No, Spain today. I am influenced by all things I discover that appear to be (that I judge to be) truths]. I envy your togetherness emotionally, expressed in your thoughts. Wish i were so evolved [Envy unneccesary, if you agree with my thoughts, this is good enough. No thought on this planet is original.. Evolution may be an illusion..]. I've been very vegan for nearly 30 years, only a carnivor for about 8 years of my life. Due to surgeons (traditional witch doctor's) wishing to cut off my left testicle, i'm now truely inspired to go 100% raw and fruitarian. Fruitarianism would be Eden for me. Living here though, fruit is most expensive, especially imported non macrobiotic kinds like lemons and papayas. [Sounds like you need to find a new location]

You sound very sane, very Masterful, enlightened and together. [Are you sure you're talking about me?] Me, i'm going insane. I can't understand all the "pre judgement" i faced. When i search the personals, never a reply. The few times i've been contacted, i'd reply but get no reply. I'm very upset with the 'American Woman' and the assumptions. Sick is the culture here of "self" or privacy/secrecy 'above all' type feminine culture. Asking questions here, no matter how innocent, is the social kiss of death for an open and individualist mind like myself. So, i give up. I've lost faith in man or more on target: womamkind here. [Don't give up.. No need to prejudge, you don't know anyone until you know them, and can we really know anyone? Do we even know ourselves?]

I've been getting really down on religions, but i liked the way you put a positive perspective on the same. If you don't mind, i'm going to steal your words and viewpoint and become less brash, more kind and eliquent. [No need to steal them, if you agree with them, they are yours just as much as mine.. I'm not a great fan of copyrights.. Just remember my 50% if ever you sell them to anyone Super Grin] One thing that really bothers me, is the hypocracy of vegans in support of abortion. Here in Oregon, vegan are either entirely pro choice or else religious. After years of searching, i've yet to find one soul, freely thinking like myself who is not influenced by peers, religion, culture (or fads).

Curiousity gets the best of me now, cause you seem to me to be thinking freely, or maybe my guess is clouded by infatuation. You seem like one who's reasoning and judgment is not guided by fear and thus, would not be like others who deliberately ignore questions or phone messages, but would respond as consistantly as is humanly possible. You must get thousands of e-mails with a site like this though. [I try to respond to all messages, but I do sometimes get inundated, and I don't always have internet access] If this message should slip through the cracks, i'd love to hear from you your perspective on this, so to say, 'Fork in the Road' of compassion-- or the vegans who choose to advocate abortion rights, as opposed to vegans that are religious and advocate 'unborn' rights. Or, what do you think about freaks like me who are all alone in no man's land between the 'Forks in this Road' of evolutionary compassion. I advocate the modern pratice of 'Open Adoption' as the only true compassionate solution to unplanned or unwanted pregnancies for a real vegan to advocate. [I try not to judge one way or the other on this issue... All I can say, is that I would be heartbroken if a child I conceived was aborted.. But Who am I to know of what is best for every situation. I do not know at what point the soul inhabits the foetus but doubt that it would be so immediate after conception. Open adoption would ultimately be a sound alternative, but I can understand hesitation to implement such while the world contains so many sick people unfit to properly look after and feed themselves, let alone raise and feed children]

My thoughts and love for you and this wonderful web site!
