Great site. Do you know a guy called David Shelley? His book convinced and converted me about 6months ago, though I am still very much in transition. About 80% raw. I have lost 6kgs since starting, and feel better than ever. I bought my first ever durian last weekend. Cost a fortune, but was well worth it.

Hey Mango.. I enjoyed reading your writings! I was just wondering what your thoughts might be on this product I take called Juice Plus. It's made from raw fruits and vegetables. [Mango's Comment: Hi Floyd, it looks more like you are trying to sell it Hrmpf!!! Well.. it is unlikely I will ever try it. I am wiery of commercial fruit and veggie juices, as they can never be truely raw.. Still.. must be better than pill popping and fry ups! Good luck.]

Are you insane? [A possibility. Define insanity.] Veganism doesn't provide all the nutrients that your body needs. [Actually, I think you'll find, that even Nutritional Science (of which I am admittedly dubiously sceptical), shows that there are NO nutrients necessary for human biological growth & maintenance, that are NOT available on a vegan diet.. A challenge - name ONE]. Your arguments are half stated and rarely backed up with facts. [My arguments are based on Common Sense and Compassion. I happen to think that Nutritional Science Facts are a bit of a farce really. But you are naturally free to choose to believe otherwise]. I can see where you're going with your Nature section, but if you remove all carnivores from a biosystem you don't create an ideal paradise where everyone eats and is merry. [Agreed. I've never proposed removing carnivores. Instead I talk of a gradual change in conscience, whereby predatory practices are ultimately eliminated.] Increased populations increase the spread of disease, so do all the rotting carcasses lying around that don't get eaten because there are no carnivores. [Again, the carnivorism per se, is not the point I am making.. It is the hunting and killing I feel opposed to. I personally believe, that with a gradual decrease in preditorism, (caused via a global change in conscience), this problem of overly populating species lower on the existing food chain, will naturally decrease too]. In short, just because you enjoy eating certain things that would make your body totally unsuitable for life in nature, [Hmm.. I think that what I eat, has brought me far closer to nature than I ever would have been, had I not had blessed sense enough to realise all that I have] (Often referred to as Original Position by philosophers) doesn't mean that nature is wrong in the way that it does things. [I just try to envision an existence where there is less cruelty, and more compassion, among all beings. Nature is just a state.. All states are temporary].

We know that in the garden their was innocense. After the fall man's life span began to diminish. Do you suppose this was due to the introduction of killing and eating of dead food?

Dearest Mango,

I want to simply let you know that as I was again reading through your site today and I was again moved to tears. I discovered your site less than two weeks ago and it has become my favorite thus far. I've been feeling compelled (almost immediately) to send you a note to thank you for sharing your wealth of wisdom. I somehow think it would be a crime not to send you this note. Thanks for inviting me to do so. I believe that my emotional reaction to your site is the miraculous work of nature, as you so wonderfully expose, letting me know which is the best direction to move towards health and happiness. Through years of suffering from unhealthy emotions and habits and trying to make sense of it all, things appear to me to make greater sense now than they ever did before thanks in large part to your site. I believe that not only is the content full of love but the layout is exceptionally well-done and beautiful also. I encourage you to continue this miraculous site. And thanks so much again. I have actually been feeling more rejuvenated and inspired since discovering your site. Hopefully we may meet in person one day.
Lovingly,
Kyle Idea Roll Eyes Wink Smile

What can I say Mango, your site is a source of enlightment to this cloudy crowded world. j´y ai trouvé des connaissances nouvelles, des pensées différentes. Y por eso me gustó, la variedad de ideas es lo que nos enriquece por dentro. no al encierro, si a la libertad.

All that I found in surfing, both mentally and physically.

mango,
nice one. good to see you walking the path of reality and having the nouse to tell us about it via the net. your honesty and sense of fun is refreshing amongst all the other bullshit on the net.
like most others, i will talk about myself a bit. im an off again on again raw foodie, fruitarian, food combiner, faster and liquidarian. im always aware of what i put thru my system, but as i spend a bit of time now and then in tibet and mongolia i eat meat for cultural reasons. i dont enjoy the physics of it, but i do enjoy the cultural insights. outside of that tho im always vegan, eat only two meals a day(if you dont include sunlight)and keep to about 50% raw at least. right now im in inner mongolia where its -25 outside and im learning a lot about body temperature and diet. id like to hear from anyone else who knows about raw food etc and extreme climates. anyway, to you and everyone else who reads this or thinks along a similar line, thanks for just being and for having the integrity to actually do what others often only talk about, and many say cant be dont at all. see you in a thousand years.

WOW! AMAZING! you're like an unbelievable myth and rare wise sage these days, while i agree with and support every single word you said, at least in theory.. but when it comes to practice it, i confess it all seems a little utopic and unreachable to me nowadays, although i effortly try (i became vegetarian for start 3 months ago) and know that fear is our ONLY enemy and that "we must be the change we wish to see in the world".. i mean, haven't you had for example any teeth, sugar, b12 related probs or many others that fruitarians usualy are associated with? is it all really that simple and innate? and how can a "pilgrim" (like you said you are) can afford such an expensive diet? your lifestyle really fascinates and atracts me, but once again fear from the yet unknown comes into play, perhaps mainly because i'm still 19 and am still dependent upon my parents.. please help me out here to clearify my mind and encourage me, as sometimes i get confused and reluctant in taking a definite decision.. you're very welcome to e-mail me, VERY indeed! humble blessings oh enlightened one!

I'm not on the 100% raw yet, but vegan for the last decade, and heavily into raw foods snce my father got a complete recovery from a supposed "terminal cancer" on a raw diet. (the doctors originally told him he only had 6 months tops to live!). (I've been reading a lot of Shelton). Thanks for doing this.

Greeting Mango, I have really enjoyed all of your posts (at the Raw Food Living Message Board). I myself am an aspiring Vegan. My husband is a vegan, but I still enjoy dead animals. I believe men have a lot more discipline and less emotional food vices than women. Are you married? Or do you have a companion? How is their diet? Your post are very motivating and the others too. I will be visiting this site every day just to keep my discipline and motivation up. I certainly do not want to liken my body to a grave yard Dead. It was nice writing this. I feel like I can live now.

namaste, salaam, greetings, beautifuls.... i pray this message finds you in perfect peace.....just want to share appreciation and a little insight;i havn't read all your wonderful work but as i was reading about you not feeling attracted to eating leaves and greens, i felt inspired to write you and anyone who takes charge of their life and families'in becoming empowered and transforming towards our true potential as an aspiring collective; disease-free, alkaline (all herbevore species',including all apes:gorillas, orangutans, chimps, bonobos, lemurs and samiangs(spelling?) ,blood, urine and lymph- fluid are indeed alkaline),(super-)natural,kind,loving,intelligent. this is what awaits us,open arms......what i'd like to point out is that from observing the frugivores, the above mentioned, all include leaves. chlorophyll is identical to hemoglobin, and will give us pigment in our skin.

Mango's comment:
Well.. There is some undeniable truth in this.. I don't live in a tree house! (although I did once for 3 or 4 months).. But cooking bananas? - It certainly is bananas to cook, yes! You have opened my eyes to the aweful truth about cooked foods. Not many people think about every meal having been cooked. I am trying to eat raw foods for healing. I am just having trouble getting a taste for them since my tastebuds are out of wack. I am praying that I can eventually eat totally raw foods. No meats just veggies and fruits. God bless you for creating this website.

There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief. From vitamin B-12 to Omega 3,6,9 deficiencies and the supplementations thereof brings it to the forefronts of the fat man, Udo Erasmus, who the medical profession embraces whole-heartedly and injections for the lack of a better way to intake cyanocobalamin in suspected cases of pernicious anemia, I've been run through the gambit and endure even still others are being duped into the fallacies of the diseases that kill and the living one fact that remains the same, heal thyself. You have the dunamis right at your fingertips, from hand to mouth.

I enjoy this site greatly and all of your personal stories and the information and wisdome you provide.

I would like to start a conversation about being a "Dietary Vegan," which I claim I am. I Do not eat meat or animal products or biproducts. I do not do it necessarally for the sake of the animal--I do wear wool and leather--rather, I do if for the sake of my health.

So, am I not an accepted member in the Vegan community? Is there not a place for my anti-meat protest? Can we all get along?

mango,
I am one of many who share a similiar vision. I've been living in a "yome", like a yurt, for over ywo years growing my own food and herbs. Now I'm letting everything go back to the universe and my home is on my back as well as my two year old. My friend/lover (mangolove) and myself are drawn to costa rica towards a co-creation of community. I need OCEAN,MOUNTAINS,FRUITS FALLING FROM TREES. This place in Costa Rica seems to have all the things necessary to live lightly and simply.
Peace and hugs,
Marantha & Mangolove
