1. Where do you get your Protein From?

Cooking.. kills all known foods.. DEAD..
Eating death causes rapid biological deteriation, teenage pimples.. and grey hairs..
There will never be a cure for the common cold, as the common cold is the cure - evacuation of germ breeding territory, more informally known as "mucus" - decaying dead foodstuffs the body is unable to properly digest..
Protein? We are a strange animal that eats proteins, vitamins and the like.. Personally I doubt the authenticity of them.. I eat Food, fruit, not carbohydrates, whatever they are..

Here is an experiment. Take an apple and slice it cleanly in half. Leave the 2 halves for 30 minutes or longer, and then look at them again.. What do you notice? The opened parts of the fruit have become brown and discoloured... Not so appealing any more..

Further, take an apple and grate it finely. - Now how long does it take for the discolourization to begin?

You will find that the smaller the segment of fruit, the quicker the sample will turn brown.. Put very simplistically, what is happening here is that the fruit is dieing. Through contact with air, the life force is being drained out of it. In "true" nutritional terms, it is loosing it's value as a food, and will, if left exposed long enough to the air eventually, sooner rather than later, be valueless as a food..

Now in those cold sterile scientific environments where food is dissected for further analyzations, the morsels are of such magnitude, that by the time they reach the microscope they are more than likely well past their use by date.. Such that what is being analyzed bears little resemblance or comparison to the true nutritional content of the food from which it was extracted..

Where does a cow get it's protein from?

I believe my body to be the best judge of what it may or may not need in terms of nutrition, and it is a ridiculous idea to me that we should follow a pattern in a book, or go to some one else and ask them what the body needs.

2. What scientific evidence do you have to support the theory of raw food eating?

I confess to complete and utter lack of faith in modern nutritional science theory. To me it is all hog wash.. My science is Observation and Common Sense. Nutritional science, or pseudo-science as I call it, works on the basis that the average human who isn't complaining about suffering, is healthy... Dis-ease however is latent. Any statistics taken from a given random set of these, supposedly healthy humans bears no relation to how a truly normal human would look.

Where I see the problem really lies, is in the defining of what is and what isn't a natural food for us..

Every reaction of the body is a healthy reaction..
Your body wants to be in perfect health..
I believe there is absolutely no truth in the adage that some things taste bad, but do us good.. If it tastes bad, spit it out!! This is common sense.. The body is saying NO!.. Listen to it, don't be fooled by the pseudoscientists and their confusing notions that they know what's best..

Equally, if it tastes good, and it's a raw food in it's natural ripe and ready state, then you can be 100% sure it is what the body needs. The body is saying YES!! This is common sense..

Here is where the observation and reasoning is needed most though.. If the food is processed, cooked, sugared, salted, condimented or spiced our instincts are fooled. - All animals in their natural environments eat their foods raw, so once more, it makes common sense that our natural foods should be raw too.. Physiologically we are far more similar to other animals then we are different.. -- To cooked foods, our bodies respond to the addiction, not to any true need of the body.

It is the living vibrational energy of the food which the body really needs, and no amount of sterile talk of amino acids, trace elements and other scientific hogwash will ever convince me otherwise..

3. What about fish? Do you eat fish?

All sentient beings have unique personalities and an interest in living a life consistent with their current evolutionary development.. It is cruel and heartless to continue such practices as keeping hens in cages, calves in stalls, and sows in small iron and concrete crates.. These are wonderful, feeling personalities, serving a prison sentence they don't deserve. They are crying out to be free, if only we will open our minds and hearts and listen..
I haven't eaten any animals for over 14 years, and don't intend to start doing so again.

Imagine you are walking along some street, happily anticipating lunch and just generally minding your own business, when suddenly you come across a slice of pizza seemingly suspended in mid-air by some unseen force. You sniff the pizza, and your demented sense of smell tells you it smells good.. You take a bite.. Yeah.. Good stuff! Soon you've devoured the whole sticky slice and wondering where the next one will appear from.. But there is an annoying hair on your tongue.. You try to pull at it, and suddenly there is a sharp pain from deep within your throat, and the next thing you know, you cough up a mouthful of blood.. Meanwhile, up on the eighth floor of the block next to you, some geezer, cigarette dripping from his lips, wearing a baseball cap on backwards, is leaning back on his stool, reading his newspaper. He sees a movement on his line.. Folds up his newspaper, tucks it under the one leg of his stool, and starts reeling in..

Horrific what? I suppose you can be quite sure that the average cod with the average chips, has not been caught in this fashion, but more likely has been trapped by a net, and pulled out of the water with hundreds or more of it's brethren, and left to suffocate slowly.. Flapping around spasmodically in in vain gasps for water..

Either way you look at it, not too nice a scene.. But let's face it, truthful.

Kid yourself no longer that you need to eat animals to live!! This is an absurd belief.. This is what is meant by the expression, "Believe absurdities, and you will commit atrocities".. It does not have to be this way!!

4. What about all the screaming carrots?

Mango's Reply to a similar question in the GuestBook
Well.. If you are truly such a sensitive being that your question comes from the heart, then I suggest a deeper look at fruitarianism.. Fruit is the one food that is offered to us "free of charge" in the karmic sense. There is no taking of life, instead the fruit is offered as part of a symbiotic pact between plant, animal and the earth. The plant remains intact and benefits from the interaction. - It gets to reproduce itself. What bliss, what joy! Not only does it get to reproduce through the sowing of it's seed, but also the more delicious the fruit, the more chance that we will nurture that seed and, feed, water and care for it, until and after it brings to bare it's own fruit.

However, if you are asking the question to find fault in the vegan moral, then I suggest you be honest with yourself, and admit how easy uprooting a carrot is in comparison with wringing the neck of a rabbit..

Look in it's eyes.

5. Do you drink alcohol?

Nope.. I'm in to a clean living, drug free lifestyle. Fruit takes me as high as I currently need to go..

6. What about all the the Eskimos?

Are you an Eskimo?

7. What's your real name? Why is Mango any less a real name than any other? All names are but temporary tags. At the moment, I choose mine to be Mango, what I may have been called once by others is irrelavent.

8. I've searched everywhere for your recipee page, but can't find it?

Not surprising really, as I don't have one. The truth is, I don't believe in recipees. They are the first step on the slippery road to gluttony.. Actually, I don't believe in the soundness of any food combining. nature intented for it's treasures to be savoured one at a time. If there is any exception to this, I would say it is for green leafy things.. But as the body is cleansed, all leaves loose their appeal and fruit, the highest of all foods, cradles us in it's loving arms.

9. How old are you?

This time around, I was Born, at 05:15 on 1st August, 1961. That makes me this old. (If you are using anything other than Internet Explorer, all those figures may be wrong).

9. Where were you born?

Wow, we are curious aren't we? For the records, I was born (this time) in Northampton, England, but don't consider myself English, I shun all such attachment.

10. Where are you now?

If you look on my About Me Page, it shows you were I am currently at.

11. Are you single?

Are you flirting? Yes.. at time of flirting, I mean writing, I'm single. I'm open for that to change. And it's ok for you to flirt so long as your a raw food vegan girl. (preferably with a piece of land in the tropics).. But hey, I'm liberal, anyone can flirt with me really, just don't necessarily expect me to flirt back..

12. You must be rich being able to move about as you do?

Yes, I acknowledge my richness, though not in the sense you mean it. The truth is I acknowledge that I'm blessed, and thus things have pretty much always gone my way. I'm an opportunist. I don't remember the last time I paid rent (actually I do, it was in a tiny miners cottage in Australia, $25 ozzie dollars a week, which was easily affordable as I was picking organic carrots at a nearby farm..) I keep my eyes open for suitable in season work, and when I feel I have a comfortable enough sum in my pocket, I think about moving on.

13. Do you just eat fruit and nothing else?

Well, strictly speaking no. Most days I eat just fruit.. that's mostly just tree fruit. If I make an exception to fruit, it might be to eat some spinach leaves, or some radishes.. What I have noticed after my many years of transitioning, is that most foods outside of fruit have lost their appeal, hence I am not struggling to eat just fruit at all, it has been a natural process. I eat using a method I call Mono-Instinctive, where I eat just one thing at a time, depending on what appeals most. (And I love the term mono-instinctive, as "mono" is spanish for monkey.. a reflection of my mind as well as diet).

14. So you never eat any cooked food?

Well, I'd be fibbing if I said it has never happened. These last 4 years or so, (since early 2000) I have probably eaten roughly 10 cooked meals. Since I've been keeping my online journal, I have noted all these times down, with ample comment of the after effect.

15. What made you become fruitarian?

That's a long story, too much to go into now. I am however writing a book as a sort of extention to this website, and will probably talk about such in it.

16. When can we expect your book out?

Difficult question to answer. I'm currently spending far too much time working on this website, so progress on the book is at a fraction of a snails pace. I don't know. Just don't hold your breath in expectation.

17. How many times do you eat a day?

Once. Between 8 in the morning and 9 at night.. But seriously.. I don't count meals. I wouldn't even say that I eat meals as such, at least not in any conventional sense of the term.. I probably could manage with far less food than I eat. - On average, for a day, I think I could quite easily manage 8 or more avocados, 1 pineapple, a couple of oranges, 6 or 7 cherimoyas.. depends what I have in my fruit trays.

18. Do you have a job?

Well yes.. maintaining this website is a job and a half. It just doesn't pay me anything is all.. If I could have a cent for every time someone clicked on a page here, I could live quite well off that. As for paid work, currently (january 2004) no. I'm staying with my parents in Spain, and helping them out with some minor alterations to their bungalow (installing a boiler for one).

19. Do you eat only organic food?

Well.. I wish.. In one sense of the word the answer is yes. organic meaning food that is alive that is.. In the other sense of the word; food that has not be painted with pesticides etc, - then the answer is sadly no, not at all. I have asked around the market for organic food. It seems to be completely unavailable here. One can get potatoes maybe, very expensive ones, but I don't eat them per say anyway, and organic fruit appears to be totally nonexistant. I'm told it is just too expensive to get hold of in Spain. I can't understand why it should be any more expensive than anywhere else.
